Pros

Low cost of living; OK benefits package.

Cons

Frequent re-orgs, new groups get created every few months and older ones get merged without any sound resons. Promotions are rarely based on merit - it depends largely on how much ass-kissing you can do, and to some extent, on your gender. Many bright engineers have left in the last 3-4 years; many more want to leave, but are stuck due to family or other personal reasons. Morale is low.

Pros

Low cost of living in TX Sound long term management strategy Good and ethical financials

Cons

Closed "inner circle" of upper management Promotions not always based on merit Unfair "affirmative action" promoting unfit women managers to leadership roles (some are actually good, but most do not get any respect)

Pros

I was with TI India for 7+ years and was given opportunity to relocate to US site. good culture, flexible work hours, open to work with different business groups, have typical extra benefits like medical/dental/vision insurance perks, 401k, ESPP, etc.

Cons

career growth gets limited in big organizations, average compensation particularly when you get relocated from non-US location
