Pros

Some co-workers are smart and can learn from them Company is doing well financially.

Cons

Very political Compensation is well below market High turnover Heavy workload and no work-life balance Attrition, layoffs, people are let go, heavy burden to employees that stay. Mostly terrible management and people in leadership roles who only care about their own goals and not the employees' career. Lot of managers should not be working with people, they are in strictly for the money.

Pros

TI manages to recruit top of the line people. Great pay and benefits. Great efforts driving web first strategy. Amazing history of innovation. Opportunities to work across the globe.

Cons

Micro management and very short term financial perspectives have stifled innovation. Everything goes by the “playbook” and there isn’t much room to be creative. Heavy age bias. If you are over 35 and you have not made the cut to leadership, you probably won’t have your career progress here. You will be constantly watching new college grads that you train and develop grow in the organization and eventually become your boss while you stagnate. TI is the only major semiconductor company in Dallas and so leaving TI is also difficult if you are not willing to re locate. In summary it is a great place for new college grad. But if you are over 35 this is not the place.

Pros

OK benefits Profit sharing Strong market presence

Cons

1. Management detatched from reality - work performed is never enough (some direct personnel have used phone apps to measure distance walked over the course of one shift and distances have been repeatedly >10 miles over 11.5 hours (how far can you walk day in, day out?) 2. Lean manufacturing principles conflict with quality goals (watch 'I love Lucy Candy Factory Video' on youtube as an example) 3. Physically and mentally demanding with poor reward and recognition for outstanding performance 4. For majority, pay not commensurate with demands of job
