Pros

I truly enjoy helping people and that is what keeps me coming into work every day. The actual people i work with are great as well.

Cons

Funding payscale training or lack there of in the beginning. Contractors who care about the bottom line way more than its people. Contractors who have little to no experience in charge of the local public employment outlook. Disconnect between contractors and health agencies policies and procedures, and lack of anyone on either side who cares enough to fix it.

Pros

Good benefits, and the job certainly won't follow you home.

Cons

Unless you're 50+ and looking for a pension, or young & broke & desperate for health care, don't ever take a government job.

Pros

Co workers in the finance section are easy going and great to work with. Casual environment leads to less stressful work area.

Cons

As with any job in downtown Austin, traffic is horrendous! Unable to telecommute (unless you are an IT guru).
