      Pros

      Good health benefits but that's about it.

      Cons

      The work schedule is dictated to you which does not allow you to have a life. If you choose a terrible shift and think you might be able to get off of it in the future, think again! The pay is ok. The vacation and personal time allotments are TERRIBLE especially if you work in production. Not only does it take forever to accrue the time off but they take 1 week of vacation from you and force you to take off in July.

      Pros

      Textron does many things well. Good salaries, generally good management, and in my experience, they treat their employees well. Layoffs do come with the fluctuations in the industry, but the folks who do get laid off are demonstrably lower performers.

      Cons

      Advancement opportunities and salary range promotion are almost exclusively tenure based. Annual merit raises have less to do with merit and more to do with time served. Great for someone who want to stay with the company for the long haul, but don't expect above average compensation for above average performance. My particular department did not take performance reviews very seriously, which I think contributes greatly to my previous gripe.
