Pros

Overall good corporate culture, usually perks for employees like gym discounts or what have you.

Cons

Workplace experience is vastly different depending on what department you're in. Some managers are kind and nurturing and honestly want the best for you, while others micromanage and constantly find fault. Mangers have (I think) too much power over their workers' ability to learn new things or transfer laterally to new departments. Pay structure seems unfair - management is under so much pressure to produce good numbers that they will go out of their way to find reasons not to give deserved raises.

Good pay, resistant to change, not much promoting from within.

Pros

Good pay, independent work structure, flexible hours within reason, no micromanagement in my department. Getting your work done is more important than how you get it done. Teamwork is promoted, and sometimes it works. Good work/family balance, unless you choose to become a workaholic, which you can easily do here.

Cons

Management tends to plan for the short term, rather than long-term. Layoffs, restructuring of departments, and relocating of entire facilities are done with poor planning and misguided reasoning. Although Thales tends to insist otherwise, there is little promotion from within its ranks. The job you start with is likely the one you will have for a long time. Management can be vindictive if challenged. Teamwork is encouraged, but more often results in departments working for their own gain rather than the company's benefit.
