Growing Company

Pros

If you like change and a fast-paced environment, this is a great place to work. The team members are intelligent and good people. The company is growing rapidly. There are some growing pains, but management is working hard to figure out how to balance the growth. It is an interesting industry to support. Each client is different and the software is configurable enough to support a wide variety of businesses. You will learn a lot about the direct selling industry. This is a good fit for people who like small organizations and are OK without rigid structure. It would not be a good fit for people who are looking for lots of structure and clear, narrow responsibilities. As others have mentioned, snacks are always available and lunch is often provided. The office space is nice, and they recently stopped playing the music over the PA system.

Cons

Expect to be held accountable for your work. It would be better if there was more flex time. When you work late, you should be able to take a little time another day to balance things out. In the past, analysts were shielded from clients. There are lingering issues due to this, but changes are being made to allow the analysts to get information directly from clients. This will improve the specifications process and thus improve the finished deliverable. If the changes currently being proposed are made, things will get even better.

Pros

The tech world can be a bit on the fast side, but I enjoy it. Even with the normal day to day, there is always something new to do. I am able to easily work and talk with the other teams, which makes my job a bit easier. Thatcher Tech allows me to be an independent worker; I am able to see what needs to be done and figure out how to make it work best. The dynamic between the teams is relaxed and personable. Cabinets are always full of snacks and lunch is randomly provided for everyone. When they have new employees, they try to arrange a "Welcome Lunch" for everyone to get to know the new person, which I feel is pretty important at breaking the ice. All the major benefits you would expect from a company, plus fun group activities.

Cons

As with any company, there are times of butting heads. Sometimes it is hard to get a hold of hire ups and get an answer, especially when everyone is running around busy. You can tell it is a bit short staffed, so there are some people wearing a few hats.

Pros

Nice location, and at times a "lets pull it together" attitude can give you that warm fuzzy feeling. Sometimes there are free meals. Generally the folks are good-natured. Very little competition in this niche market, so I don't foresee any challenges to the bottom-line.

Cons

Over commit and under deliver is the standard. More-so than the norm. Churn is close to 70-80 percent per year (50/50 on resigning vs term). One would think that the churn will yield better opportunity, but its not the kind that you can take with you to your next position. Management does not know what to do with the experienced and/or the intelligent. Everything revolves around the tenured.....and its a clique. If you're in then it will be alright. If you're not then the existing double standard will not favor you (not that it should matter but your political views best lean right if you want in). The other point is that the CEO is both the greatest asset and the single greatest liability to the equity shareholders at this club. Currently, there is no professional coach onsite for him so it can be very taxing for all involved. And to top if off, my overall professional "stockvalue" went down after leaving TTG. Ouch!
