Pros

Easy going pace, relaxed overall atmosphere, great opportunity to gain basic laboratory skills

Cons

Limited vertical growth, no longer challenged after you learn all of the stationings, limited receptiveness on behalf of upper management. The schedule changes every few months at a whim, which makes it difficult to build and a regular life schedule. It began as a 3-on, 3-off schedule with 12 hour shifts, then changed to Mon-Thurs with 10 hour shift, and now is Mon-Fri with 8 hour shifts.

Pros

Relaxed, friendly atmosphere, leader in biotech

Cons

Compensation is not competitive. Little to no room for growth within company. Expectations surrounding promotions are vague, lots of favoritism.

Pros

- Building and location is very nice - There is a garage (at a reasonable price) if you have a long commute and need to drive in - admin community is very helpful when you need something or need information - benefits are pretty good - vacation time is pretty good - They will reimburse you for around 1 class a semester after your first 3 months of employment - Mediocre work/life balance (this isn't really a pro or a con I would say in the middle)

Cons

- admin on-boarding process is incredibly terrible and frustrating. you don't get nearly enough information then people continuously tell you what you did wrong but you weren't told about it in the first place. The current process in place is an "admin buddy" your first month and they have a list of things to go through but I don't think the list was nearly helpful enough and should be modified - been working here for a few months and there are still things that come up that I had no idea about bc my managers nor my "admin buddy" told me about it - Some managers don't let you work from home even in extenuating circumstances and even if you are able to do the same job at work - pay is not great - this might have been my own fault for not asking for more money - yearly increase isn't great - company wastes a lot of money. there's a free coffee cart every day that they pay an absolutely ridiculous amount of money for and could be going towards anything else. Personally, I don't think we need it since there is a coffee machine on every floor - There are fitness classes but no gym. I think more people would prefer working out alone vs fitness class and I'm sure they're spending too much money on the instructor when they could probably save up and build a work gym instead - Unsure about career opportunities for admin, although I may be too new to know
