Pros

Coca-Cola is the world's most recognized brand. Individuals going to work for Coke should gain experience and use the learnings to move to another company. Coca-Cola looks excellent on the resume.

Cons

The Management were not open to change or new ideas. It could be difficult to move into new areas and gain experience in new positions. Advancement is also a challenge. You must apply for every position and every promotion, therefore, it is difficult to be promoted or recognized just for doing a great job. Unfortunatley, employees were easily pigeon-holed into a certain position or a certain group. Despite a desire to obtain addtional education (such as an MBA or additional certification) moving from one area of the business to another was a challenge.

Pros

Having the most recognized brand name in the world on your resume is always a plus. The new president of North America has really turned things around and it will be reflected in our financial performance. Work/life balance is acheivable.

Cons

Compensation: At my level, I do not receive a bonus. My management does not communicate the overall financial performance of the company and how our team directly impacts that bottom line. There is no commuication on how we are promoted. In such a large company it is easy to get lost in the shuffle.

Pros

Well known brands, viewed by outsiders as a top tier company.

Cons

Poor communication internally and constantly changing priorities and strategies make it a tough place to succeed. They recently restructured in Canada, eliminating over 80% of the positions and creating new jobs. The net was a 30% reduction in staff. This happens everywhere and is never fun but sometimes is necessary. But they handled it VERY poorly, downgraded (hence reducing pay) almost all the positions and changing the titles so no one could figure out if they wanted to stay or why. They even forgot to interview some people for the positions they applied for after their original job was eliminated. Disappointing. As a result, many people left unwillingly while others left because they did not accept the new downgraded job they were offered. This seems to have surprised them as they now have many vacant jobs and are using head hunters to try to fill them. I feel sorry for my friends that are still there, it's not a fun place to work.
