Pros

Good starting salary, that's it. The ratings are inflated because they used to have a team (and probably still do) of folks that would pester employees until they left 5-star reviews for the company across multiple platforms, including Glassdoor. I was coerced into leaving a 5-star review on here at one point. This is also how their Google reviews work, FYI.

Cons

Where do I start? Manipulative bosses, deceptive sales strategies, you name it. You're not allowed to say "work-life balance" when working here. Listing "full-time" as my employment status is a joke, it should say "constant overtime of 60-80 hrs/wk and never seeing family or friends." My boss actually told me while I was working there that he had a great interview with a candidate until the end when they asked about PTO as a benefit, and he deemed that question a "red flag" because he just "takes time off when he needs to." However, employees are not supported in that way. Taking time off doesn't exist. They will set you up for failure by having your maintenance and sales team be spread so thin that they can't complete the basic workload, and it leads to upset residents. You will not get support in solving problems, even if you're new or in training. There will be a quick, band aid solution that only leads to larger problems down the road. I was asked to do a zoom call exit interview and responded that I would only answer a written survey as to not be further manipulated by them and then never heard back. They don't actually want to know what is wrong within the company and how it leads to such extraordinarily high turnover in every position. They only want to find excuses for what might have caused each individual to leave. It's embarrassing. I could go on, but I'll leave it at that.

The Connor Group Response
1y
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and feedback. First off, I want to assure you that this isn’t a canned or scripted response—no robots here! We genuinely read and reflect on every review, and we encourage both positive and constructive feedback. Regarding the claim that reviews are coerced—this simply isn’t true. We value authentic voices, whether the feedback is glowing or less so, and we encourage transparency in all communications. As for your prediction about our Communications team looking for new jobs, I can say confidently: I’m not going anywhere—and yes, we love our jobs here at The Connor Group! Your experience with work-life balance and support is not what we aim for, and we’re committed to making improvements based on real insights. It’s disappointing to hear that you feel we fell short during your time with us. We’re not perfect, but we strive to create an environment where every associate can thrive and feel heard. If you’d like to share more details, we’re open to further discussion. Despite your concerns, we wish you success!

Pros

Benefits were decent enough but not always

Cons

This company is a cult and everyone I worked with was miserable. This company does not expect you to have a life outside of work and I feel for everyone who think that that much should be expected of them. I had a fellow coworker who had been there for years and was still in the same position I was starting. There is no growth. Please read the negative reviews before reading any positives, the 5 star reviews in June are all forced upon employees because of all the backlash this company has received.

Pros

The training and culture is great. They are continuously giving you training and tools to improve. Benefits and work-life balance is also a big plus. They do compensate a bit higher than the industry standard. They have an assume incentive program that allows you to receive gifts you have aloways wanted. Definitely room for growth and that is all the way into becoming a partner of the company.

Cons

The company in no way cares about their residents. In order to be successful you need to have the ability and desire to lie, cheat and swindle innocent people. From their aggressive tactics of going into people's homes (yes even through the pandemic from day 1) to increasing utilities with just a month's notice. The turnover is insane! If you push back on their systems or cultural ideas on how things are being done or how people are being treated, you will surely find yourself being fired. They say "people count", but in all honesty you are just a number and the pressure is outrageous. I understand pressure in positions in order to have success, but this is pressure to swindle and trick people to close the deal even when you know there is no way for them to actually break or get out of their lease by any means.
