Pros

Salary is enough to pay one's bills. Can start in the company with no experience. Benefits are acceptable. Close to metro station.

Cons

Emmes is the office equivalent of McDonald's, but for clinical research. Work is doled out like it was on a conveyor belt. Beware, this is not really clinical research, it is information technology work. The company has done its best to take everything interesting out of the clinical trial formula. One spends 30% of time doing work, the other 70% documenting it. Middle management changes often. Outside sponsors make demands and workers have no power to respond. Lots of wasted time and very, very, very tedious. If you do gain any skills, they are nominal. Only work here if you have to.

Pros

Great place to start with no experience.

Cons

Management is clueless. They don't understand that you have to work to keep your employees. Eager to learn employees become complacent and lose motivation within a year once all the micro managing and lack of reward set in. On the scale of CROs. Emmes is way behind. Especially when you go beyond domestic trials. Inexperienced in more than one way.

Pros

A lot of young, energetic people in a fast paced environment. Everyone is really nice and works well as part of a team. The company has a great training program for new employees.

Cons

This company was small, but is growing very fast. The company is trying to develop management infrastructure to support its growth.
