Pros

My boss was not a micro manager. He trusted you to do your job and thats a great thing. Starting 3 weeks PTO and great Co workers. Bonus is great if you can hit it.

Cons

Pay is horrible. Your bonus makes up for it but first you have to hit goal. Tough to do with an less than mediocre product. Management is very disconnected. There is constant follow up as they never responded to emails. Communication is horrible. You find out what's going on from Agents before you find out from someone in your own company Extremely slow to react... To everything. RVP was never available They love to remind you about their core values however they don't Empower their employees with those core values

Good company but ...

Pros

Benefits, PTO, people Very little responsibility and accountability which could be pro or con.

Cons

Incompetent management in systems. Management is very micro oriented. A new employee, dba, with 20 years experience , said that management is scared to move anything in fear of it not working. Best story, 3 consultants were let go due to incompetency. 5 years later they were brought back. A few years later 2 of the 3 were CIOs at Hanover and one is currently the CIO. That is a joke as is the mgt in systems. My daughter has been underwriter at another company for 3 years. In the underwriting business, she has been told Hanover pays but the underwriters hands are tied once hired due to Hanover management. Good place to get salary bump and then leave.
