      Pros

      Plenty of jobs to choose from within the company., and if you network well, you will find the right job, the right manager and the right commute for you. There are perks as far as good and generous benefits, you need to look for them, few things are offered or published.

      Cons

      Catty co-workers. The culture is distant and snotty. Very old school, old New England. Micro management was coined at The Hartford! Very very sexist and regardless of how many South Asians work in IT (and run the company), advancement is for white males (still). Management is very closed minded, never eager to learn new tricks. Don't try to change things, you'll get black balled.

      Pros

      Very open and collaborative environment. Excellent training and leadership development program. The rotation program here really allows you to see all sides of the business and improve as a future business leader. The job evaluations are helpful and help you improve as an employee. The Corporate University provides extremely useful training relating to insurance products and other matters. Office building is located close to trails, parks, and mountains. Peaceful and easy drive to work. The Hartford sincerely encourages leadership development, and encourages employees to participate in the company's recruiting and training program .

      Cons

      The building is starting to get crowded. They use Lotus Notes instead of Microsoft Outlook. Drivers in Connecticut are rough.
