Pros

You will meet some great people while working in direct care. The kids are a big reason for doing the job.

Cons

Leadership does not care about employees. The director does not care about being a leader or the programs, they just want to work you to the bone. There is no leadership or team.

Pros

The staff are all supportive and support advancement in the program

Cons

The training process is a bit of just throwing you into the fire, very little direction (first day was sent to the program house)

Pros

You get great experience and exposure to the Juvenile Justice and Child Welfare Systems. You get a chance to make a difference in the lives of at-risk youth.

Cons

Long hours and demands. But it does help prepare you for advancement
