If you're an experienced stylist/barber, this may not be the place for you. Starting pay is rather pathetic, especially in today's economic climate. Business can be very slow at times, too, which makes it difficult to earn commission and better tips. They will often hire someone with 1 year of experience and pay them the same amount, if not more, as someone whose been doing it for 15 years, as an example. Raises are rare and meager, based on things like commission earnings, which isn't possible to achieve if it's a slow season or not a busy location. Therefore, earning more money is highly unlikely. Communication from management is extremely poor. Performance reviews are nonexistent, for an employee to know where they need to improve would be on them to approach management and ask. Management seems to dodge sincerity and team meetings altogether, perferring secrecy to open honesty.
