Pros

Flexible hours; realistic, attainable benefits; work/life balance is somewhat synchronized. However, extra hours worked are not compensated, nor appreciated.

Cons

It’s been exactly a year since my unwilling “separation,” and what I can say is from my own observations: communication between team members is extremely poor to non-existent. The complete lack of leadership is apparent as certain individuals are viewed as infallible/exhaustingly venerated to the point of nausea (despite visible lack of practical knowledge and application); while the disfavored are hung out to dry, and quite often thrown under the bus to their superiors. Accountability is not in place, as finger-pointing overrides constructive recourse, ever promoting the use of the double standard. Moreover, a systemic, disgusting obsession with titles and dubious “seniority” seem to be paramount over proper diligence and ethic. This is not the place to launch a career, as mentoring is a supposed "non-factor," as supposed experience is valued more so than eagerness to learn/grow- horrendously depressing outlook for equal advancement opportunities.

Pros

flexible work schedule, the front desk person was super nice

Cons

I had the worst contracting experience I've ever had at MX Group. No one spoke to me, no one would joke back when I'd try and make jokes. I was spoken to in a harsh tone for not responding in a scrum meeting with the proper form and verbiage you're supposed to use in a scrum- on my second day there. Most bug fixes were allocated 15 minutes or 30 minutes to fix and in that time you need to figure out where the problem is occuring, fix it in the way that a person who's been there for 9 years would fix it (in other words determine from the context of the program that was developed over years with tons of different styles and methods - what the 'right' way to have fixed it from that person's point of view would have been.) I couldn't wait to leave that place and would never go back

Pros

-Some of my favorite people in the world work here, they’ve got some fantastic talent keeping them afloat. -I was employed over seven years, and had a tremendous experience for the first 4.5. -They handled COVID really well for the first 1.5 years

Cons

-New & younger leadership has ancient views when it comes to workplace rules (dress code, wfh, work/life balance). -Pay is way beneath market value. -I first-hand witnessed, and experienced myself, multiple instances of verbal harassment by two middle-level new employees in 2019–2020. As of this writing they are still employed and were in fact given culture-awards (all of this was reported by multiple people, multiple times to HR and leadership). -Focus on profit/growth over EVERYTHING. -Culture is forced and manufactured. -No opportunity to mentor or direct anyone, no junior level agency positions were hired in the last ~3 years.

We appreciate this feedback and are sorry that your last couple of years here were less than stellar. Regarding the comments about harassment: We take allegations of harassment very seriously and do not tolerate it. The incidents mentioned in this review were thoroughly investigated at the time, remedial actions were taken, and there has not been a single report of harassment by these individuals nor anyone else at the company since that time. We appreciate your contributions to Mx during your time here and wish you the best in your future endeavors.
