Pros

Deeply resourced and influential organization. They do truly want to do what is best for their employees, and the broader world.

Cons

Conservative and risk adverse in nature. Not a ton of turnover. Leadership / science can get in its own way. Deep silo issues - more appropriate to think of it as a coalition of NGOs all competing/collaborating with each other internally.

Think it twice

Pros

Large organization with plenty of resources and name recognition.

Cons

Performative CEO travels the world and gathers funds but is unaware of the difficulties and challenges the staff experiences. Bad people’s management, communication and projects happen in silos, decision making is not transparent. Growth opportunities are inexistent other than applying for a new position in equal conditions than external applicants. No clear promotion paths, no chance of building a career other than managing people even if you have no interest or abilities to manage people. Their DEI efforts died when the new administration came into office to comply with their views. Corporate environment with NGO salary
