Pros

for the world office, it's very close to a metro (plusses and minuses there, I suppose), benefits are pretty good, pay is reasonable, the people that I've met and have worked with so far have all been great. probably the most best is being part of something important, working towards important (big scale, for the planet) goals.

Cons

it's a nonprofit, so the limits to resources and speed to implement things are going to be different than in a corporate setting. but this is also a pro. it's just something different to get used to.

Pros

Very straight-forward recruiting process. Applied online, received regular updates regarding my status, invited to complete a questionnaire, invited to interview, offered the position. Total time from application to offer was about 2 months (a bit slow - but only because of some unexpected out-of-office time for the hiring manager). Organization was open to negotiating during hiring process, was able to negotiate a higher salary and more paid time off. Very happy with the results!

Cons

I haven't come across any yet. The depth of training materials (courses, webinars, etc. is INVALUABLE for someone like me who is brand new to conservation.

Sometimes too bureaucratic and slow to move.
