Pros

Very straight-forward recruiting process. Applied online, received regular updates regarding my status, invited to complete a questionnaire, invited to interview, offered the position. Total time from application to offer was about 2 months (a bit slow - but only because of some unexpected out-of-office time for the hiring manager). Organization was open to negotiating during hiring process, was able to negotiate a higher salary and more paid time off. Very happy with the results!

Cons

I haven't come across any yet. The depth of training materials (courses, webinars, etc. is INVALUABLE for someone like me who is brand new to conservation.

Field Workers Beware

Pros

Generous time off and work worth doing.

Cons

Pay disparity between office and field staff is enormous. Trained scientists willing to break a sweat are treated like lawnmowers. Headquarters seems to be nothing but political BS.
