Love working with TNC

Pros

The vast majority of people I work with at TNC are amazing and kind, incredibly smart and have good attitudes. My schedule is mostly flexible and I have some autonomy of what I do on a daily basis. We get to work with a variety of partners and community groups in beautiful places. I also like to possibility of moving up the ladder so to speak, and have access to many different career paths within the same organization.

Cons

There may be a bit of a top heavy approach, with many executives etc, and not enough boots on the ground to really do the good work we need to do. It is competitive to get in and starting pay is just OK at the more entry levels.

Pros

Fabulous people devoted to the organization and its mission.

Cons

Widespread discontent among people of color. Very hard to advance as a woman of color. The disparities between executive salaries and everyone else are offensive and representative of the lack of understanding/lack of willingness about what equity looks like.

TNC is committed to creating a more respectful workplace for all. We’re also aware that we have a lot of work to do, as our CEO has stated several times. This includes increased investments in our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team coupled with better information sharing about our efforts. Our Black and other BIPOC colleagues have been courageous in sharing their experiences and TNC is committed to responding. We would like to hear more about your experience.
