The work culture at OSU has various cons, starting with the hierarchical structure in which staff is expected to maintain high standards while being at the bottom of the hierarchy. While some departments may be different, it may take some time to find the right fit. The career roadmap was introduced to ensure pay equity, but it has not been successful in achieving that goal. Regardless of experience and education level, if you move up on the roadmap, the salary is only at the start of the range. When coupled with the expenses of parking, the salary does not provide an acceptable standard of living.

Although they advertise it as something major, their health insurance is not the best (a portion is taken out of your salary too). Paying for parking is also not the greatest considering that it reduces your salary.
