Pros

There are zero pros for working at Planet Forward. I voluntarily left the company, so this isn’t a retaliation post- I just want to save any potential new hires the time and effort I wasted here. I’m sure they’ll tell you they’re hiring due to growth, when the truth is there hasn’t been any significant growth at Planet Forward for at least the past 2 years. We actually had a VP sit down with all of the recruiters to point out that while the staffing industry as a whole is growing, Planet has not. Their solution- guilting the recruitment team to work longer hours. Not once did leadership ever take a step back to re-evaluate what they could be doing differently, they just point the finger at the recruitment team and continued to up our KPIs (key performance indicators)

Cons

“Leadership” is abysmal. The leadership team is made up of employees that have been around since the beginning or have been around long enough and waited their turn. Not top performing individuals that worked up the ranks and provide value or showed the competencies needed to lead. No one in a leadership position ever rolls up their sleeves to help benefit their team or the company. They have an arrogance to them that they already put in the work, so now it’s time for a new team to come in to work under them to grind and keep making them money. They kick up their feet, keep a close eye on recruiters activity, and when their spread’s (commission) not growing, they’ll dig in to see who they can point the finger at.

Pros

- Good Recruiter resources (LinkedIn, CareerBuilder, Bullhorn CRM) - They’ll let you drink in the office Friday afternoons (but you’ll usually have to buy your own beverages or if you’re a guy you’ll end up buying for the rest of the office)

Cons

- Metrics-heavy and not results-oriented - Sexism and favoritism is evident across the organization - Office politics heavily influence the way you’re treated including special privileges and opportunities to some and not all (far from a meritocracy) - If you don’t work out of the Cleveland office, don’t waste your time... you’ll be overlooked and under-appreciated - No local leadership or mentorship - No unified culture across different offices and brands - Outdated culture - Very few incentives compared to competitors - Average (at best) commission structure - Stagnant business growth and no truly valuable business development - No 401k match Honestly, just don’t waste your time. There are so many better companies out there.
