Pros
In my job I am basically 'left alone' which was awesome until I actually needed support and found none. So I guess that is more of a con. Other than that I have lots of friends and I like working with a less homogenous team- lots of age, race, gender & life experience diversity that I haven't seen in other tech companies.
Cons
Extremely low pay with no chance for advancement. They don't even have an organized promotion track. The general vibe is petulant superiors ( themselves undertrained and scared) ignoring and or berating their staff over ego driven issues. 'Business critical' was earnestly used as a reason to do just about anything. These people don't like numbers (harder to argue with- though not impossible as has been proven!!!) (This is all true minus a few beautiful individuals who know they are different- mondfrans and Alvarado to name two supervisors who make their teams happy). I've heard people being told that they should be lucky to get a 1-2% raise because everyone else was 'getting a 0% raise'. No transparency on that front. It's just all day complaining and whining and moaning and the worst part is that it's justified by daily insanity ( thus validating the circle of hating TRR). The stages of grief can easily be applied to working at the realreal. Pretty sure I'm between the depression and acceptance phase rn.
