Where does one even begin? Therabody is an absolutely horrible place to work. This company operates like a well-oiled machine designed to use and abuse its employees without any regard for their well-being. It's hard to deny that the culture here feels eerily cult-like, with employees who are "happy" clearly just putting on a front to maintain their position within the organization. What’s even worse is watching the life be drained out of otherwise good employees who are just trying to do their jobs. The high turnover rate speaks volumes about how toxic this environment is.
The pay is well below market value for the roles being filled, and the company seems entirely indifferent to the concept of fair compensation. You’re expected to put in countless hours of work for little to no recognition or reward. In fact, the entire company is disorganized, and work-life balance is a myth. Employees are constantly pushed to their breaking point with unreasonable demands and poor leadership.
The management at Therabody gives off "speed" or heavy ADHD energy — constantly rushing through things with no focus or consideration for the employees. They’re disorganized, scatterbrained, and it’s clear they don't have a coherent plan for anything. To make matters worse, management has a tendency to take credit for the work of those on their team. As someone else has already mentioned, it’s a culture of under-the-bus throwing and backstabbing, where employees' hard work is easily overshadowed by leadership looking for personal recognition. This lack of accountability and transparency only breeds distrust and frustration.
Another major issue is the pervasive microaggressions within the company. The culture is far from diverse, and it’s painfully obvious in the way employees are treated. Initiatives that are labeled as "diversity and inclusion" are often nothing more than performative gestures, quickly forgotten or abandoned as soon as the spotlight moves elsewhere. It’s a shameful attempt to appear progressive, when in reality, it’s all surface-level with no true substance or commitment behind it.
One of the most frustrating aspects of working here is the lack of accountability. Other departments will make major mistakes, and then it's left to the next team to clean up the mess, with no proper acknowledgment or gratitude. Instead, you're expected to just pick up the slack and keep going like nothing happened. This type of environment fosters resentment and burnout among employees.
To make matters worse, there are an absurd number of meetings throughout the day, many of which are completely unnecessary. You spend more time sitting in meetings discussing trivial topics than actually doing your job. It’s a waste of time, and productivity suffers as a result. It’s clear that there’s no understanding of how to manage time efficiently or prioritize what’s important.
In short, Therabody is a place where people are constantly stretched thin, undervalued, and left with no room to grow. The lack of organization, poor treatment of employees, toxic management, and performative diversity initiatives make it a nightmare to work for, and I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone looking for a healthy, balanced, or fulfilling work environment.
