So so bad

Pros

Some roles are allowed to be flexible SOME

Cons

Where to start? Medical insurance for a family is $863 a MONTH JUST medical. The HR processes here are all manufacturing based and probably written in 1983. IF you can speak to someone in HR. We buy new companies yet lay current staff off. The head of HR when you hear her speak is condescending arrogant narcissist. No promotion budget for current employees and I have to take away merit from my successful performers to increase merit for my small group of high performers. Toxic is the word I would use for the culture. If you want to be worked to death and not recognized this is the place for you. If you want most of your paycheck to go to health benefits this place is for you. If you want to set your career back 20+ years in policy and process this place is for you. If you want to be forced to go in the office five days a week just to be SEEN not to actually collaborate this place is for you. The old PPD folks are all waiting for the economy to get better so they can jump ship as the culture has shifted and it’s just so toxic.

Pros

There are some very talented, fantastic people here. There are great products and technology. The company mission is admirable. DEI is embraced.

Cons

Compensation is well below market, merit increases do not keep up with inflation, benefits continue to increase in price while being watered down. Leadership views inflation as a "temporary condition". Teams are severely understaffed for a company this size and work life balance is nonexistent. Leadership is unable to effectively cross-communicate between divisions and groups and therefore cannot prioritize initiatives making everything a high priority while providing zero resources for execution. The playing field is not level, and you'll be judged by arbitrary standards others don't have to meet. Lack of work/life balance and burnout are viewed as the fault of employees, not the fact we are trying to do too much with too little or that leadership is disconnected from reality. Promotions are not based on accomplishments, talents, or abilities. Non-contributing zeroes who make themselves highly visible to leadership and say things leadership wants to hear are rewarded and promoted ahead of those actually making things happen. The culture is riddled with toxic positivity and complete disconnection from reality.

Highly dysfunctional

Pros

Decent pay, 401(k), nothing else

Cons

- Highly political. All that matters is who you impress. Leadership is incredibly obsessed with optics. It’s all dog and pony. The CFO is only focused on the most superficial items (when he’s not talking about himself) and never focuses on work, knowledge and quality. - Far too many incompetent employees. Honestly, I don’t think 20% of the Finance staff have a clue what they are doing. They are constantly makes mistakes. - You are always fixing someone’s mistakes and they keep making them. You would almost think it was their job to make mistakes. - Leadership plays favorites and they aren’t subtle about it. I’ve seen people ignore emails, make major mistakes, lie, but as long as they parrot the cliche business jargon and brown nose, they are leadership’s favorite. - Did I already mention leadership’s uselessness? All they do is set up meetings to book up their calendars and look busy. - Lazy, lazy, lazy staff. I think I can count on one hand the number of people who I’ve worked with who were not lazy. - I hope you enjoy tire tracks because you will be thrown under the bus a lot. And they plan on running you over. - Your hard work and efficiencies will not be appreciated. All they will do is give you someone else’s work, while that person does close to nothing. - Incredibly superficial. They will thank a highly compensated consultant for doing next to nothing but not say a word when you worked all night to meet a deadline. - Unfortunately, most companies are just as bad.
