Working closely with at risk youth.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations. Employees are overworked and underpaid. There is no room for personal perspectives on client cases as Third Ways’ philosophy must be followed. The philosophy used has been proven NOT effective over and over again yet no new ideas can be presented. Senior staff is abusive creating a hostile work environment. There is no support from supervisors. A very dysfunctional setting.

Any pros of working here are offset by how toxic the environment is. Good experience but not worth what you go through. You can develop serious mental health issues working here from staff alone

Cons

Unsupported by leadership They ask you to work off the clock and promise to pay out of pocket than never pay you Abusive senior staff You get blamed and personally attacked for things the kids do. They don't get held accountable, you do. No personal life. They call you off the clock and ask you to come in all the time. They call you to tell you how you messed up. Overtime: you never leave on time. Often times you will work partial night shifts after evening shifts that exceed 12 hours because they are so short staffed.
