Pros

Great Management in the Reston office (HQ) who makes you feel a part of the team. The management is willing to listen to fresh ideas that can benefit the company. The president and chairman of Thompson Hospitality is a genuine and down to earth human being. His success story is an inspiration to many, including me! In the Reston office, you’ll always find the upper management > Controller, SVP HR, CFO, COO, VP’s … in a positive mood, which encourages others to have a positive attitude. If you are looking for a company that "CARES", Thompson Hospitality is the place to be!

Cons

Like any other company the workload at times can be high. But the management in HQ is always willing to help wherever they can. Anyone working in the corporate world should know that to succeed one needs to work hard. Management tries its best to maintain a work life balance and offers a flexible work schedule.

Pros

Good people and the food is ok

Cons

They often forget to pay their workers, they make direct deposit complicated to fill out, they use a weird pay system that makes it complicated to see taxes and other important information. Their corporate try to cut our hours. Prior to 2024 i worked twice a week and got paid 250ish dollars bi-weekly, now i work three times a week and barely make 200 unless i request them to pay me what im owed. Managers at velocity is rude and told a co-worker to “f*** off” and leave because he didnt do his sidework fast enough. Plus corporate tries to mandate a leave time which simply does not work.

Pros

I love that this company is so diverse. You are treated based on your merits and hard work. I got promoted within the first six months due to my work and knowledge. They are lenient when it comes to appointments and having to work remotely. Great benefits, lovely people to work with.
