Pros

I like this job function, I like helping people. There were red flags from the very beginning and I ignored them.

Cons

When someone tells you that they just hired their 'best friend', RUN. Because there are other things they will divulge about them to you which can be inappropriate, I don't care about anyone's sexual orientation, you should keep that to yourself. Also, errors were occurring from the very first calendar invite. I received a calendar invite was addressed to someone else. The LinkedIn profile attached to another calendar invite was that of a different person, it wasn't until about 20 minutes into the interview that I understood I was talking to the wrong person. I didn't get invited to my own orientation. These errors continued once I was inside with misinformation when it came to start dates and offer letters. On this person's own, no one else on the team was getting the necessary paperwork without having to send out a search party or delay their onboarding. In the short time I was there, helped automate the onboarding process so that no one on the team would have to rely on the Director for any paperwork.

Thank you for sharing your experience here. Unfortunately when you joined ThoughtSpot in April, it was at a time when the People Team was going through some significant changes and there were certainly a lot of mistakes being made. You and I discussed the challenges of the transformation we were undertaking and the impact it had to your role, and why in the end you weren't the right fit for the stage we were in. We are continuing to focus on building out the People Team and have significantly improved our processes over the past few months. I am very proud of the team and what has been accomplished.

Pros

- CEO Ajeet is amazing - his vision for the company is truly gold. - Health benefits is a huge plus (100% paid by the company) = shows it's dedicated to employee's physical health - Interviews are relatively easy

Cons

- With a lot of gender disparity in Silicon Valley, ThoughtSpot is similar in that regard. It has a huge bro culture and can be toxic to certain departments - There is a miscommunication between what's told from interview vs. what's expected once you're on the job (some say it's typical growing pains and others say it's lack of true transparency) - The culture isn't for everyone and can impact one's mental health -- many employees are flashy-fast movers for their career
