Pros

Good people to work with

Cons

This company has its pay set up so production employees have to rush through their day as fast as possible if they want to make a decent paycheck. I left a great job to work here under the assumption I could make a respectable paycheck. The difference from what was discussed in the interview from reality was almost 20k a year. They tell you what you want to hear to get you in the door then when things aren't what you'd hoped you're told to " stick with it ". I was personally told by management that they didn't know why my pay was so low. Really? Maybe if they changed the way they pay their employees the work would improve and so would morale. Their too caught up in capitalizing in any way they can. This is no longer a family oriented place of work.

Unfortunate Turn for Worse

Pros

The crews, sales teams, service teams and people that do the bulk of the work for the company are amazing people. They continue to sacrifice time from their families, to do the best, honest work that they can for customers. I respect their hard work and dedication. I appreciate the owners for the care that they have always given anytime they were in the office. They are a great couple.

Cons

I was there for several years. Over the past couple years, there have been multiple layers of management added. With each layer added - the value of the people has diminished greatly. You can work your heart out, love what you do, the customers and your co-workers - and management will turn and tell you that you aren't a culture fit. Its unfortunate to see how corporate the company has become. The true why and hard work of the owners, that got the company to where it is today; is not felt or understood anymore. It has become about the money, the employees feel it, and the management doesn't care. A lot of talk, no follow through. If you are looking for a place that you want to feel good about your work, at any level, this is not a great place to work.

Out of my element

Pros

The hiring process was easy. I was concerned that my lack of experience in the construction industry would hamper me from landing a job with such a well known company. However, my fears were unfounded. Not only was I hired by Thrasher but they also placed me in a roll supervising other employees. This made me nervous at first. I quickly realized many of the people in the production department had even less experience than I did.

Cons

After 6 months of very little training and several jobs that went poorly. I made the decision to move on from Thrasher. I didn't feel it was fare to myself, others or the customers to be installing products I knew very little about. I have accepted a position that fits my skills and experience and although I am grateful for the opportunity I had no business taking on such a role.
