A Company That Truly Cares

Pros

I have worked for Thrasher for over 10 years. I have had the opportunity in various roles to see the inside workings of the company and understand what drives it forward. Through all the years, the different things it has tried for employees and customers, and the decisions management has made, I understand that their hearts are motivated by what is best for the employee and the customer - sometimes to the company's detriment. When they make a change to hours, service, pay or anything like that, they labor over it to make sure it works best for all. I know it to be fact because I've been in on the conversations and I've seen it with my own eyes. I appreciate the transparency of Glassdoor and respect others' experiences and opinions on this page, but it has disheartened me to see some recent reviews. So, I felt compelled to write a review for the company that has treated me with fairness, respect, and honesty since I started. Thrasher gave me a chance when I didn't have a lot of choices and has helped developed me both personally and professionally. No company is perfect, but this one tries with everything it has to be a great place to work.

Cons

Thrasher has high expectations for its employees. I don't think that's a con because it calls you to a higher standard for yourself, but I could see some may not like that.

Thank you for your feedback. We strive to create an environment of openness and transparency for all our employees. While it is true, we are not perfect, we try our hardest to make decisions that are fair and what is best for our employees, and our customers and I am grateful that you have experienced that during your time here. While some of the posts below encourage us that we are going in the right direction, doing right by our employees and our customers, it is disappointing that we didn't have the same level of trust from some other past employees as we do with you. Over the past year, we have had to make some difficult decisions to let employees go from the company, and in those situations, we questioned the integrity of the employee. While we cannot share the reasons employees leave, we appreciate that you trust that leadership is making the right decision. Thank you for your commitment and loyalty to Thrasher.

Out of my element

Pros

The hiring process was easy. I was concerned that my lack of experience in the construction industry would hamper me from landing a job with such a well known company. However, my fears were unfounded. Not only was I hired by Thrasher but they also placed me in a roll supervising other employees. This made me nervous at first. I quickly realized many of the people in the production department had even less experience than I did.

Cons

After 6 months of very little training and several jobs that went poorly. I made the decision to move on from Thrasher. I didn't feel it was fare to myself, others or the customers to be installing products I knew very little about. I have accepted a position that fits my skills and experience and although I am grateful for the opportunity I had no business taking on such a role.
