Pros
I got a water bottle last Christmas as a “thank you for all that you do”, that’s about the only positive thing I can say about the current situation at Tilson. The saying “if you don't have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all”, unfortunately will not apply here. Unless you have “proven” yourself, and by proven yourself I mean previously worked at Byers, or if you enjoy always having to fight for what’s right, then Tilson is the place for you. If you like confusion, chaos, and being belittled, come work at Tilson. The current leadership team has taken Tilson in a downward spiral and the future does not look as bright as it used to. Other than having the ability to be fully remote, Tilson has nothing to offer their employees but empty promises and unrealistic expectations for their employees.
Cons
Buckle up because things are going downhill, fast. You will be micromanaged, nothing is ever good enough, you don’t matter, and you will be threatened with termination if, and when you fail. Managers are stretched thin and at a point where they don’t have the time or ability to actually train and help their team succeed. The entire organization is in disarray and has been since the last engineering leadership overhaul and people were brought in from another organization. Over the past 18 months, Tilson has reduced their workforce several times because of the poor leadership decisions and their inability to secure new contracts or keep existing contracts. The pay scale is so out of whack, folks who came from Byers were given salaries almost twice as much as those that have been at the Tilson. Raises and bonuses are almost nonexistent and you’re not rewarded in any way for any of the hard work you do.

Pros
Fully remote with a very flexible schedule. Decent pay and benefits.
Cons
Management was a mess. Teams that should have been well-structured were chaotic, sometimes with no clear idea of who was in charge. Too many expectations were based on ambiguous "internal studies" with no regard for project-specific requirements. Pressure to meet those expectations resulted in constant micromanagement from team leads. Ideas for improvement were shut down if you weren't willing to work on it on your own personal time.
