Should have been better.

Pros

Fully remote with a very flexible schedule. Decent pay and benefits.

Cons

Management was a mess. Teams that should have been well-structured were chaotic, sometimes with no clear idea of who was in charge. Too many expectations were based on ambiguous "internal studies" with no regard for project-specific requirements. Pressure to meet those expectations resulted in constant micromanagement from team leads. Ideas for improvement were shut down if you weren't willing to work on it on your own personal time.

Pros

Amazing teams and people at the working level.

Cons

Upper Management and Executive layer cannot make a decent decision to save their lives. Non-stop pivots and every system became a patchwork nightmare that we all had to try to hold together. Efficiency was rock-bottom which made management and executives clamp down even more. Layoffs were frequent and we would all be very surprised to find out our teammates had been cut loose with zero warning. If you like working alongside fabulous people who are all enduring micro-management and unwarranted blame, this is your kind of place.

Pros

As a CAD Drafter II, my team lead was amazing...it ends there.

Cons

My CAD manager was horrible and doesn't know how to train nor did they provide the resources necessary to succeed at the job. When I suggested putting documented standards in place, it was stated that it wouldn't be necessary. Funny, because like the other reviews said, the place has a turnstile for hiring and firing. LinkedIn reports 2.7 years for median tenure if that says anything. Lastly, they pay below average for a CAD Drafter, especially considering the extra work involved with dealing with the GIS/utility software that isn't accurate (plus the modern cost of living/inflation). Don't hire someone you're not expecting to train, it only shows laziness or carelessness on your part as an employer.
