This location does not promote.
If they do promote you either do not receive a pay raise or they will give it to you then later take it away with no notice. It seems that the managements bonuses are effected by the departments spending, and it causes a conflict of interest because the operations manager (GM) makes it his priority to keep costs down to the point where employees are paying the price and working with extra limited department budgets.
Many departments paychecks are messed up consistently. Someone has gone in and changed employees pay rates on numerous occasions. I say that because how else could numerous employees have agreed on x amount as pay then when they look at their paycheck break down they see that it is now y. Once you notice that you then have to prove that you were in fact getting x amount an hour. There is also shady business with the tipped pay. When you bayhost it is difficult to ensure your check is correct because the number they give you as what you earned for the night is before tip out. (4% to bartender and 1% to barback for all alcohol, 1% of all charged tabs to busser, 1% of food to food runner). We are paid every other Friday. We do not see a break down of what amounts were applied for what day it is just the hourly rate by hours, and the tipped pay. Many of the bussers pay were inaccurate. They would receive the same amount of tipps for 30 hours as they would for 75 hours. The same bussers checks were always higher than others when they worked same days/hours. No way for bussers to ensure that they receive all of their tip out. Event ambassadors get paid a comission of all food, beverage, and rooms an event books. They used to see a breakdown of all commission charges, but with the paychecks consistently being incorrect the ambassadors being able to keep track of all event charges was annoying and time consuming for managing to discover where the error had occurred. Current protocol does not allow event ambassador to know what the commission breakdown is and they are not allowed to know the amount until the next business day which makes it difficult to keep track of all commission pay. Management inputs pay each day. There are many easy mistakes that get made with the input system in place. It could be anything from forgetting to list someone to just typing the wrong number, but if the employee did not keep track of their pay they may not realize their pay was incorrect but if it seems off they do not have proof of what it should be.
