Pros

While the company has had its growing pains, the executive team is really listening to the employees and are making huge strides to make this one of the most exciting success stories in the Twin Cities and beyond. They have not been afraid to make the tough choices as of late and it is great to see. Employees are increasingly empowered to explore and grow and be the "total expert" in their job. The CEO sends us messages encouraging us to take care of ourselves and our families and genuinely cares about our well-being in one of the toughest periods of time. Great job at handling WFH during Covid and responding to the unrest in the city.

Cons

No 401k match although it is apparently coming this next year.

Company at a Crossroads

Pros

Best of breed product. Dominant position in the mortgage space, Excellent reputation. A CEO that motivates like few can. Never seen so much talent up and down the org chart.

Cons

Changes are a part of a growing company and should be embraced assuming they make sense. If they don't make sense then they should be questioned. Changes can have a profound effect on the morale and the performance of the team. If people see new employees coming in at higher salaries and titles. If we are going from a collaborative environment and one where people feel empowered, to one where micromanagement and scrutiny of every activity become the norm of the day, if we become bogged down in processes, then we need to question if this is truly the direction we want to go because the net result is typically not a positive one . Where we were in sales 120 days ago and where we are now are two completely different places. Where do we ultimately want to go? This will have a huge effect on the team over the next 6-12 months

Pros

Freedom to take ownership of your role, expand processes and come up with creative solutions. Some of the most talented and intelligent people are here.

Cons

Benefits are weak. Unlimited flex time is completely frowned upon. They hired a group of c level people and then a much larger layer of middle managers which completely bogs down every aspect of your day to day, this is why "move fast and innovate" has become an internal joke that translates to smash it together and move on. It's a very competitive and oftentimes vicious environment where many people are fired on the spot in front of others over personality differences. Because of this environment that middle management layer is constantly aiming not for the customer but for the CEOs approval, heading to a lot of backstabbing and generally aggressive behavior. Constant fear of being let go. It's a chaotic fear driven environment about performance at all costs. I've had many friends inquire about working here and I've told every single one to steer clear because this company is about growth at all costs, including the people.
