I was laid off due to the pandemic and departmental downsizing.

Thank you for your review. For everyone else, OG or Octave Group was our old name when we had both the background music business, PlayNetwork, and TouchTunes. I regret that we had to lay anyone off during the height of COVID, but when we did, we tried to do so in a way that was fair to impacted employees. In particular, I am proud that we offered extended healthcare benefits to impacted employees to ensure that they had coverage in place if they needed it. -Ross, CEO

Pros

The team at Octave Group is amazing, full of great professionals and nice people. The leadership group is very transparent with all the employees. Benefits are very good. The office is Montreal is A+, great space to work in. If you love music and technology, it is a great place to work at.

Cons

In terms of product development, it could get a bit conservative in regards of trying new technologies or the latest developments in the mobile platforms, so specifically for advance mobile developers it can be a slow pace environment.

Thanks so much! Transparency is important to us because we believe people do better work when they have as much information as possible. I agree that we are the perfect place to work if you love music and technology. On your feedback on product development, at the time you wrote this, 8/20, during the height of the pandemic, I would completely agree with you, as we were down 30% in revenue and needed to be very cautious with our spending. With that said, today (2/23), we have dramatically increased our investment in product and will be deploying a lot of new technology in the coming months. Thanks, Ross, CEO
