Pros

It's a good family environment. One of the best platforms in the industry. Free breakfast every Friday (for now).

Cons

There is no career path. Everyone has a dead man walking mentality due to a rash of lay-offs. No one knows where they will be in 6 months.

Pros

Great people, family atmosphere, good work/life balance Finally moving in the right direction with new management and a solid vision for the future. Getting back to more of a start up mentality where people are energized and working together across the technology and brokerage areas

Cons

Mismanaged for a long time (10+ years) with no direction or strategy which led to some poor investments and chasing ideas in a down market. Headcount increased to support investments that didn't pan out and downsizing to get back to a manageable size to be profitable has been very difficult and painful for the organization Long time employees still fighting against necessary changes that need to be made to grow.
