Unstable company, and no advice to staff how things are going

IT Department was a family to me since day one. Everybody gets involved and take ownership of the projects/solutions. Very fast environment

Cons

Every past quarter there was a corporate massive lay off. A lot of individuals are being affected, and the company is not providing a clear situation about how the company is doing, and what to expect, or advice to take any action. There is not opportunity to growth.

Good pay. Good Insurance.

Cons

Most staff has been laid off. Company running on skeleton crew. Product is old and outdated with technical debt out of control. Management is clueless about how to run the company to make it competitive in today's market against competition like NinjaTrade, MultiCharts, ThinkorSwim, Interactive Brokers etc. All competition got rid of old technology, old code, revamped and got ahead.. but not Tradestation. Still stuck in the 90's.

I worked at the CR office. The environment was friendly, we had good facilities and flexible schedules. The work/life balance was good. Good salary.

Cons

The internal IT management was kind of political and it was almost a form of bureaucracy. There was not a lot of room for suggestions or proactive behavior. A lot of changes have happened recently and this may not be longer the case.
