Pros

* There are still a few brilliant and fun people left... for now * Full-time remote still is an option... for now * Flex time off really does seem to be legit

Cons

TrainingPeaks joined forces with sibling company TrainHeroic earlier this year, under TrainHeroic leadership. * The new Engineering leadership is unequipped to deal with a product as large as TrainingPeaks * Leadership's values are misguided (no, the count of code releases is NOT a measure of productivity or success) * All of the newly-implemented "process" is a waste of time * Though a promise of the reorganization was to focus on projects and see them through, the constant priority-shifting makes my head spin * Some of the upcoming plans to increase revenue strike me as recipes for disaster

Pros

Great group of coworkers that were passionate of the endurance sports community. Opportunity to attend events nationally and internationally while meeting great customers. Work/life balance was pretty good for non-management positions.

Cons

- Absolutely horrible pay structure. TrainingPeaks is known for severely underpaying employees while removing perks as time went on. - Spent almost a year trying to figure out performance review and growth for staff, yet promotions were non-existent as well as salary increases. - Constantly doing more work above your role and salary for no increase in compensation or promotion. - CEO is clueless and upper management is too afraid to stand up. Constant changes in direction of the organization, always chasing a shiny new project. - No real interest in listening to feedback from employees or customers. - Kombucha bar, new building or some fancy gym doesn't make up for low salary, bonuses or career growth. - Did an internal/external compensation review which was a joke. Barely raised the compensation even though it was shown to be on the low end of the scale. When I left a year later, they paid my replacement the same starting salary as when I started, making the compensation review a scam!

Friendly teams, but the company has growing pains.

Cons

- Executive leadership and engineering hires are not diverse - Lack of appreciation, recognition, and feeling of making a difference - Roadmap and objectives can be unclear.
