Pros

Few and far between, the only pro is that you receive a paycheck and don't really have to take work home with you.

Cons

Literally sat at my desk and surfed the internet all day during the nearly pointless 2 month "training", then all of the sudden it is "ok get on the phones" and you are pretty much expected to take back to back calls all day with little support from training/management teams. The internal processes within the company are mind numbing, if a client sends in an email needing response the team typically cant get to it until about 2-3 days at which point you are already working behind the 8 ball with the customer once you respond to an email. The primary internal system used to create work items is extremely cumbersome and anything but user friendly. The "resource center" is severely outdated as well, there are process instructions from 4-5 years ago appearing in there!! In most cases these have changed so the resource the management team wants you to use is of no use at all to the associates. Also hate to say this but it is true, the employee base in the Sponsor Connect department is lets just say unimpressive at best. Most people are just here for the check and could care less about creating an energetic and positive work environment. I can't really blame them due to the workloads put on each employee in the department. Just has that feeling that each person is trying to do as little work as possible to get by.

Although your experience with us does not appear to have been a positive one, we do appreciate the time taken to provide feedback. You mention some valid points in your con’s, and they are things we are aware of and working toward improving. There are many IT, process and team projects underway, all looking at how we do business and interact as a business. Which is one of the reasons we moved to ONE Transamerica – to help with collaboration across business lines and functions. Ultimately, the changes we make to help our employees work easier and faster will positively impact our customers’ experience.

Pros

They talk a great game when you start. They believe in helping people. Flexible times, good compensation, but there is room for more.

Cons

Too much change over in the company. In the period of time that I was there, I had several different reporting managers in a short period of time and the lower you go in the company the more change over. Layoffs have occurred several times over the past few years, and when you see a friend who is at the top of the performance chart laid off, it is quite difficult to have a great respect for the company. Upper management and managers are out for themselves instead of working to build their team. Be careful here because their revenues are down and changes are coming within Transamerica.

Pros

There are a lot of positive reasons to work at Transamerica: Our internal peer award process-BRAVO!, our bonus program, the people, how we change peoples lives, our work in the communities that we live, our development opportunities and the ability to learn more about the industry. For example, we have LOMA training.

Cons

The company has under gone a tremendous amount of changes. There have been layoffs and site closures as well as changes in reporting relationships. It is always hard to see your colleagues leave. The work loads for some areas are intense. Not all fellow colleagues are positive people which for some is a result of change fatigue.

We offer a variety of free online training and encourage all employees to utilize the learning center tool so I am happy to hear you are doing so! As we become a “Future Fit” organization, change has occurred. I know it is extremely hard to say goodbye to valued colleagues, but we are committed to this journey. Meeting our customers’ needs is very important to us, and with that as our focus, workloads may vary at times. We appreciate your feedback and wish you much continued success here at Transamerica!
