Forced move to South SF Waymo location on RTW was disappointing. From the dingy facility to managements lack of operational management skills, chaos reigned. Perks significantly reduced.

Everything. The pay, the culture, the benefits are sub par. The CIO literally called himself a certain dictator in World War II and runs that department as oppressive as one can. He encourages this behavior and his management team does the same. Also being told that one cannot be to far from cellular service so you can be called in at anytime just in case even it’s your personal time off! You’re told that long hours and giving up well earned personal time is part of the deal and you’re supposed to accept it. No such thing as work life balance. There is little to no diversity in the C-suite (not counting a role filled temporarily). Diversity and Inclusion is a joke. There isn’t enough people to do the work and people must work long days to only slightly catch up which applies to all in non-management people in corporate. The employee surveys mean nothing to management and the feelings of their employees matter even less.

Low pay, crappy benefits and mandatory 6 day work week.

After you pass the initial training, the first year or more can be lonely with a majority of single-driver assignments. When you have passengers, you have to turn off your speaker, and the passenger might not talk to you (because it is a simulated driverless experience), so that’s worse than Uber driving where you can initiate conversations if your passengers want to chat and you have more ability to play music, etc. The entry Autonomous Specialist role has a high turnover rate. While it is easy to get hired it is also very easy be exited for policy violations such as touching a mobile device when the car is not in park. There's also a merit point system so if you do get penalty points, you won't get the pay bumps and won't get interviews for promotions. Not so easy to get the points back either, slowing your career path. There are multiple shifts running 24/7 and when you're first hired, you might end up in a shift that conflicts with your normal sleeping hours. There is no clear path for being hired into a "white badge" (direct employee) position at Waymo or Google, it has happened to some employees of Google's vendors, but it is not a common thing.

Benefits are terrible Horrible communication from company No idea what future plans are

toxic management, political promotions, unfair interviews, you are treated poorly. Non-existent benefits.

None at all this is a great company
