Pros

If you can stick with it, the retirement is exceptional. Job security. You can actually live a decent life, buy a house, raise a family. Easy to promote. They'll let absolutely anyone climb the ladder if they play the game.

Cons

Crazy politics here, at least in corrections. Also, mandatory overtime is kind of a pain.

Pros

The benefits are good if you stay 8 years.

Cons

Sheriff Hernandez likes to pose as someone who cares about mental health but she appoints and keeps clinically incompetent people in places of leadership in the mental health department. She has very little knowledge in this area, and as a result, the work of interns and mental health counseling staff is ineffective and unsupported. Working here risks your own mental and physical health as you will be working in a harsh environment that cares nothing for your wellbeing. It is a toxic culture- from treatment from inmates to treatment from leaders. Find something better.
