Pros

I worked at TCSO for 25-years (Corrections, Patrol, SWAT, Detective, Sergeant). I’m one of many recent ethical employees/leaders that have left or been run-off by ignorant, hypocritical, narcissistic administrators (including the current sheriff (Sally Hernandez). This agency has gone downhill since Sheriff Margo Frasier left and no longer represents the “respect for law” that they are charged with. A majority of the men and women of corrections and LE are good people, but they are stifled by the micromanagement and poor leadership at all levels. 💢Co-workers to share in your misery. 💢Benefts and retirements are adequate

Cons

💢Lousy “leadership” (see above) 💢Several administrators have admitted to committing FELONIES‼️ (POCS, Agg. Perjury, Indecent Exposure (sex acts on Port A beach),etc. 💢Deceitful pay-scale due to 10-year old pay freeze that admin fails to rectify

Pros

Decent money; 3 shifts of 8 hours each; excellent benefits. I actually LOVED my job.

Cons

Management should take a look at the conditions some of their people are working under and fix the issues. More listening, less complaining, more encouragement are the 3 things that need to change if they want employees to stay. Proper training is another issue that went downhill, at least in the department I worked in and the day Supervisor added to the stress by talking about other employees to other employees. 8 people have left since I left a year ago this month.
