Pros

Between industry contacts and looking good on your resume, a couple of years at Treliant for a young person is a good career investment. Top management treats women and minorities well, if anything, better than white males, judging from the status of a couple of high-level people I can think of. I strongly disagree with another reviewer who alleged discrimination against POC--quite the opposite here.

Cons

The managing directors don't care what you think about anything as long as you bill a lot of hours. Other than top management, employees don't socialize much or even go out to lunch. Grab a sandwich and eat at your desk. There is the occasional office happy hour--that's about it. One of my colleagues once gave two weeks notice that she was quitting (she didn't have to--you can quit without notice) and a managing director asked what she work she had left to do. When she answered that she had very little, he fired her that day.

Pros

Treliant is a growing firm with a who's who of the banking industry among its leadership and directors. They've worked with many of the top banks and firms in the financial services space, so your exposure to various clients and engagements is going to be top notch. -Strong pipeline -Great exit opportunities -Some quality leadership at the top -Free food and weekly happy hour

Cons

Treliant is a growing firm and part of that growth is pain. There is very little organic culture that you'll hear them rave about, and the pay is under par to most of the other consulting firm in the space. Most entry level, like analysts to consultants, typically stick around for a year or two and then move onto bigger firm, inc. big4 and other specialities, and make 10-15k more easy. The firm also struggles with diversity. They'll tout their diversity representation in the leadership but you'll notice that more so than gender, people of color are treated differently at the firm. When you're staffed on projects, you'll see harsher feedback directed more towards the POC on your team; when you get the courage to ask others about their pay, you'll see that POC struggle more at year end; when you see promotions, it usually won't be POC or not as fast as their white peers. -Lower pay compared to peers in the industry, both base and year-end items -No MBA support -Struggle with diversity. If youre a POC, you'll see it sooner or later

Pros

Friendly work environment, high priority placed on professional development

Cons

Too much emphasis was placed on the extra benefits of working there, rather than the basics. Consulting is a constantly changing set of work conditions, so some projects could be good, others not.
