Good compensation, bad upper management, very political

Pros

Very good friendly environment within your silo, nice office, global company (get to meet new personalities)

Cons

'Core Values' is just a page on a site. They do not reflect the true 'Values' which are now changed. 1. Changes last about 2 to 3 years with always an executive being promoted to a new leading executive role. After the change fails, same movement in upper management takes place and the old executive keeps his/her job and just goes back to the background to collect paycheck 2. It seems like CEO reads some management review books and decides to use these theories by vaguely implementing them 3. Can't work from home and management became very strict by following other technology company leaders (Yahoo) 4. All upper management has been changed to former Third Brigade management or allies to cover their back, being Canadian always helps to land that upper management job 5. Very little collaboration between RD/Support/Sales/Marketing and teams work in silos 6. Old Culture is changed and Third Brigade/Canadian culture is brought to the company

Pros

Solid products, talented employees and Trend's health benefits are above average.

Cons

The worst C level management team (Trend USA only) I have ever worked for, period. The executive teams mindset is they are still a startup company inside a 28 year old AV vendor. Management (USA) keeps doing the same hiring and firing of sales people as the answer to their lack of increased revenue and marketshare in NA. Constant reorging for the sake of change without proper leadership direction, research and proper marketing leads to high sales employee turnover. No 360 review process or genuine employee feedback. Do not make waves whatsoever at Trend. Suggestions and feedback are not valued here. Their sales model is LIFO. Your success (or lack thereof ) depends on the accounts you are assigned to.

Canadian Mafia Boss runs North America like his own personal concentration camp. The 'Dare to Fail' culture is fine if you don't work in North America.
