Pros

This is a stable industry hence you have relative job security. Salaries and benefits are competitive. There is a very good continuing education program for job related degrees.

Cons

Autocratic, old school, good old boys. New ideas are not solicited nor appreciated. This is a job that does not offer much personal satisfaction, simply a check at the end of the week.

Pros

50% work from home. Good benefits. There are SOME great managers at the company. There are great opportunities to do good utility work. Most of the lower level folks are really good people

Cons

The culture at Tri-State has changed. The family type culture is gone. Employees are more of a number now. It’s a job so it’s not all sunshine and rainbows but the change has been drastic. Communication is not good. The CEO puts out town halls. They are a mixed bag but a lot of the things said have little to no follow through. VP’s and managers below the CEO are mixed. Some are controlling and micro manage. Little to no communication on decisions. Lots of empire building and overstepping. If you don’t really care and are cool with collecting a salary and flying under the radar, this is the place for you. If you need a job where the mission means something, this may not be the best. The goal has changed and it’s become more about individuals and their agendas.
