Easy, but far too easy, no accountability, low pay

Pros

High concern for burnout, excellent supervision, supportive management, flexibility, good benefits.

Cons

Low pay for contribution, lack of accountability (colleagues can coast while being compensated higher due to years of service while you take on more work), disjointed, dysfunctional senior leadership, contradictory messages, talks the talk about talent retention but lowballs you while warehouse workers can earn more than technical jobs

Good company, good purpose, making big changes

Pros

Tri-State is a not-for-profit power company that works for its member/owners, which is a plus, they are not in business to make money for shareholders on the backs of the customers. They are making changes to cut costs, become more efficient, implement green energy all while maintaining reliability. Lots of upside opportunity but the road ahead is rough.

Cons

Compared to the power business historically, which has been pretty "safe and easy", maybe even bland, Tri-State is making changes which can be challenging if you don't like that kind of thing. On the other hand, if you like being on the leading edge of change in the electric utility business, this might be for you.
