Pros

Mutual insurance company that doesn't make every move to appease their shareholders. Good benefits and competitive compensation. Invaluable built in trust from membership due to the partnership with credit union . People trust their credit union way more than an insurance company, bank, or any brokerage firm or wirehouse.

Cons

Constant struggle to meet the separate objectives of the company, credit union, financial advisors. These philosophy conflicts often end in a meltdown.

Pros

Most of the line staff are awesome and I loved what I did. Management, not so much.

Cons

I'll try not to be bitter. Once you've been "targeted" it's over. They will result to any measure to get rid of you including outright lying if it suits their purpose. While the "claim" they are trying to help you, it is all baloney. They don't not treat employees equally and are deathly afraid to take action against employees, when warranted, that could result in discrimination suits based on a protected class. They had no interest in evidence showing other employees were not being counseled for "like" activity. (I.E., they were receiving preferential treatment) They very much want people to obtain degrees/certifications, which isn't a bad thing, but if you choose not to, I believe, they begin their efforts to rid you from "the team." In my opinion, they hire/promote based more on education than qualification. They have made business decisions that are in their best interest, not necessarily in the best interest of their clients.

Pros

Good facility and location. Some co-workers are decent and dedicated people.

Cons

Curved stack-ranking results in a lot of good people chewed up and spit out of contract-to-hire and/or probationary periods. It also means that a significant number of co-workers are callously self-serving and duplicitous. Matrix management often results in a "who's in charge, who's on first" environment on projects which can go on for months with no discernible results.
