Pros

I’m a relatively healthy eater and like to eat organic when I can, so being around that style of food all day was great, and seeing that nearly everything truly was made “in house” and being able to tell customers the truth about the food was nice. Management is straightforward and reliable.

Cons

This is just the type of restaurant (with the certain type of clientele) that you will not make good tips at *unless* you work consistent doubles and/or are a bartender. The bar system is messed up- the bar gets sat in rotation with servers, has an entire 10+ table section, but pool their tips, and do none of the side work that servers do. Depending on the day and who you’re working with, as a server the sidework can be A LOT, and sometimes you’re left doing more sidework with very few tables (AKA making no money but doing more work). Learning the menu is A B*, and the accommodations the company makes for customers is a little (a lot) ridiculous.

-The people who work there are amazing and you will create many friendships -The guests who come in are kind and relaxed most of the time -Close proximity to healthy food

Cons

-TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT -People get scheduled outside of their availability weekly without notice -Employees frequently asked to do "favors" for mgmt and work outside of availability -Management is tone deaf to concerns of staff -Understaffed due to management's negligence of employee needs -Constant displays of favoritism for certain employees -Management fails to train new employees thoroughly and blames employees -Management gossips about employees in ear shot of other employees/staff -Management will fire people without warning or previous write-ups -Management refused to fire a racist employee after multiple complaints (employee has now been fired but it took 5-10 comments!) -Absolutely no consistency with regard to the rules enforced -Management is defensive if concerns/constructive criticism is brought up -You have to pay for parking, even though management does not -No structure -Management will hold contests and change the reward after it is over or will never give the reward -Management reluctant to help servers during the shift
