Pros

Easy to get hired and move up.

Cons

Moving up is a terrible idea. All work but no benefits to having a higher position. Will overpay you and have you pay it back. Not very concerned with employee happiness. Pay structure is completely wrong.

Pros

Working with a lot of cool people, made a lot of friends, most of the customers are very friendly and regulars, decent pay for what it's worth, fairly easy job. 30% discount on anything in the store, which is essentially the price you'd pay buying the same stuff at a Kroger or Publix. Depends on your situation, but the hours are generally very flexible.

Cons

Horrible management, way too much favoritism and nepotism. Upper management treats department managers and employees like garbage while employees with seniority or who are friendly with management get to do whatever they want with no consequences. Management has a very reactionary and regressive response to any new ideas or systems and is generally out of touch with what really goes on during the day. Grocery has always been run on a skeleton crew, and Front End never has enough cashiers, especially during peak times. People get pulled from doing their actual job in their department (regardless of how much work they still have to do) to go cashier or do busy work in other departments (which they usually aren't trained in) just to have something to do. Incidents where employees have been racist, sexist, or sexually harassed another employee are totally swept under the rug with no consequences just so they won't have to hire someone to replace them.

Pros

Friendly coworkers, a lot of the employees are nice and easy to get along with. Made a lot of friends.

Cons

Management is absolutely awful and it all starts at the very top. The higher-ups are self centered and really only care about things they want personally and are fairly disconnected from the actual day to day workings of the store, but when they do interact they make sure to boss you around and nitpick. Employees are treated as expendable and are given the bare minimum of everything. Low discount, not allowed shift meals or a meal plan option or to take food home at the end of the day even though it is thrown way. Tenure does not matter, any promotion is based off of favoritism and people who will kiss up constantly to management. Raises are uncommon, but they are fine with raising starting pay for new employees, which is an absolute slap in the face to people who have been working hard there for a long time. Company cares nothing about toxic employees or management. If they like you, you can get away with anything even if multiple employees make complaints about one person. Extremely toxic behavior including racism and sexual harassment are swept under the rug because they would rather not lose employees even if they make everyone in the store uncomfortable.
