Working here becomes more painful everyday

Pros

- the team I am on is friendly and hard-working - Flexible PTO

Cons

- many teams are obstinate about introducing new processes that will make things streamlined and more transparent - culture used to be transparent and friendly, leadership has become more closed off and hostile to employees - pay is middling, I was promoted and my pay raise was about an inflation adjustment - incapable of making quick decisions. I thought one of the benefits of being a small company meant there would be less tortured decision making - many things I liked about the job are falling away (I.e. mandatory RTO removes opportunities for flexibility) - Mandatory RTO (MWF) but no promises on making it easier to go to the office - open plan office with no reserved desks and few private quiet rooms for calls, no guaranteed covered parking in AZ heat (this will be the first time I’ll have to pay for parking to go to work) - Constant reorganizations that make systems management unbelievably painful because they won’t invest in implementing APIs or system integrations

Pros

Nothing nothing at this point, not a single pro worth talking about.

Cons

The company is going in a very bad direction. Culture is totally changed since I have joined. Please don't join and fall for the false narratives. It's being run like a headless chicken. It's not just team based experience - all teams, orgs and leaders are bad. Pay is cheap and they want to RTO for such low pay. They insult employees and call them unproductive. Someone needs to look in the mirror.

Pros

Most of the people are very friendly and supportive, you can always count on getting advice from others. Management is friendly and somewhat approachable. Great work/life balance. Depending on the team, WFH can be flexible, PTO is strictly tracked tho. Depending on the team, it is encouraged to take ownership of your project/work/ideas.

Cons

The compensation package is WAY below market rate. No clear career promotion path, management very obviously has their "favorite". No year-end bonus structure (which means your % raise really depends on how much your manager wants to fight for you, and how much management likes you - no leveled playground) Lack of career development training and very few good mid-level managers, sometimes it feels like teenagers lead teenagers in a team. Agree with other comments that benefits are severely lacking and option package (at least for normal hires) is kinda a joke.
