Pros

Pick your own hours, get paid even not tutoring (if scheduled). Weekly feedback.

Cons

Almost impossible to schedule hours at first due to being probationary tutor, so you just have to sign on hoping you get hours. If you can't help a student, you get in trouble. If you try to help but aren't quite sure of how to but the student still wants you to, you get an advisory. There are much better paying stay at home jobs. The only reason I stayed was it was good practice to keep up my knowledge from school.

Pros

flexibility and that's it, nothing else, the only reason anyone would put up with this company

Cons

Meddling, incompetent "mentors," who sabotage you to make themselves look good to upper management. Give conflicting advice and fail to respond to answers. I have high student approval, nearly 5.0 but they want me to drag out the sessions to annoy the students and provide little or no help.

Pros

Pretty easy tutoring work if you're well versed in educational approaches If you're on for more than 15 minutes, you should get something My mentor was communicative and accessible Love the tie to the military & their families...I feel like I'm making a major difference in their lives and their children's lives!

Cons

Changing of policies...I've been on Tutor.com for just two months now and I feel as though things are changing all the time! Low pay...Probationary tutors are paid $10/hour and T1 are $11/hour for writing and social science tutors Can't show your credentials...If you're an IVY league tutor on here, no one will know the difference
